Haiku shelf, like the japanese verse form, haiku, says a lot with few words. Simplicity in form is combined with a few decorative and functional details giving it caracter. The result is a shelf working as good free standing in a space or by a wall, as a traditional shelf, instead of a credenza or as a room divider.
The rounded edges is an example of when "form follows function" as it gives the shelf stability in all directions so that no extra support is needed. The roundness also gives the enlarged dove tail joint its self locking capability.
