Since the dawn of man, the fireplace has played a central role in gatherings. Everything was based on some collected burning logs. Here people gathered to prepare food, warm themselves, protect themselves and eventually even the private homes were built around the fireplace.
The central location of the fire meant that this was where the day was summed up, songs and melodies were composed while the leaping glow of the flames spiced up the shared stories. The unifying power of fire surely guided man to develop our social ability that our lives today depend on.
We hope that the Bon coffee table can borrow some of the fire's power and magnetic force as a gathering place for meetings for people and their stories.
